Engineering mind alert.

I assume plastic is bad because of the chemicals. That is a ribbed plastic straw. Our NSF certified dish washed will not get the crud out of those. Diluted chlorine will get them clean. Also, our girls want to come see what all the fuss is about when there is glass all over the kitchen floor. Blood is harder to deal with than kool-aid.
